The Team at Swakeleys Dental Practice

		Esmeralda Esmeralda is the practice mascot. As a porcelain African elephant, she doesn’t have real tusks or even teeth so oral hygiene has never been an issue. Esmeralda doesn’t say that much. She just keeps a watching eye over our surgery upstairs.

		Dr Barry Abrahams Barry ran a 10 surgery practice in Southall for over 30 years before taking over the Swakeleys practice in 2001. He brought his senior team with him and between them they have made Swakeleys one of the most respected and trusted dental surgeries in the area. He has a particular interest in endodontics (root canal work), as well as crown and bridge work. He regularly attends specialist courses to improve his clinical skills in these areas. Thankfully pulling teeth is a thing of the past – Barry far prefers pulling his patients’ legs! Barry is married with 3 children one of whom has carried on the 'family business' as a dentist in Stevenage.

		Randir Sodi Randir is Barry’s Dental Nurse and the Practice Manager. She has worked with Barry for more than 35 years. Randir also is the practice’s Qualified Radiographer. Her hobbies include travelling, cooking and keeping fit.

		Dr Mike Newlands Mike qualified from Guy's in 1967. After working in Fulham he became a partner in two practices in West London. Mike has worked in private practices in the West End and Ealing. He ran this practice from 1989 to 2001 when Barry (Dr Abrahams) took over. Mike is particularly interested in crown and bridgework.

		Sylwia Checinska Sylwia has been a registered Dental Nurse since 2000 and teamed up with Mike at Swakeleys in 2004. She spends her free time reading and “sharing good vibrations”.

		Rebecca Fagan Rebecca completed her Hygienist training in the Armed Forces and has been qualified since 2002. She left the Army in 2006 and since then has been working in Private Practice. Her hobbies include running, cooking and charity work and taking care of her little dog, a black and white Springer, called Sox whom she rescued from a dogs home.

		Agata Szulc Originally a Dental Technician, Agata decided to “get closer to the patients” and has been a qualified and registered Dental Therapist and Dental Hygienist for over 9 years. She has been working at Swakeleys for more than five years, during which time she has had time out to raise a family.

		Jill Benn Jill has been a member of the Swakeleys team for more than eight years. Jill manages reception and coordinates patient appointments. In her free time she enjoys gardening and reading.
